2025 Impact Report: Our latest Impact Report, released in February, recognizes new milestones from the 2024-2025 school year that contributed to our ongoing mission of inspiring learning and continuous improvement. The report highlights our strong partnership and collaboration with schools, systems, states, and other education agencies, and the growth and improvement of Cognia network institutions in instructional practice, leadership, academic achievement, and student engagement.
Cognia Launches New American School Certification to Recognize International Schools Meeting U.S. Standards: Cognia announced the Cognia American School Certification, a selective recognition that identifies international schools that meet a defined American-style education profile. This new certification offers international American Schools a new way to strengthen their credibility and global appeal. Through the certification process, schools will demonstrate their alignment and compliance with U.S. standards and curriculum and validate the quality of their English-language instruction.
Alpha School: Accreditation Boosts Excellence in a New Pedagogical Approach: This community story explores unique model and success of the Alpha School system and how Cognia Accreditation was able to meet their needs as a system with non-traditional school model. Through the accreditation process for one of their high schools, Cognia was able to make recommendations that helped improve aspects of the school’s workflow, and as a result, Alpha School leaders approved systemwide accreditation.
Systems, Not Slogans: Real Change Requires Relentless Implementation: This article, written for the Fordham Institute Wonkathan by the team at Watershed Advisors, discusses what needs to happen at the state, district, and school levels to improve literacy education.
